science centre!

It has been ages since I last visited the science centre, this is how old I am. I thought it will be fun and interesting to bring my students out which is what I've been wanting to do, but the science centre was a scam! Maybe because this time they did not go for any interesting exhibition but only stayed in the lab to do some light experiments which actually bored me. haha. But all the science fact booths and displays within the centre are still cool :)

Heard one of the teachers saying,"Please spare me! I don't wanna bring them to little india AGAIN. I've been going there for 4 years in a row already. I'M SICK OF LIL INDIA!" I laughed when I heard this. Students go to different NE places every year while teachers go to the same NE place every year. hahaha. I hope I have other chances to bring my students out to other fun places like the Zoo!

I spent around 13 hours in school and 11 hours at home everyday for the whole of this week. I actually spent more time in school than at home. And back at home after my dinner, I'm doing sch work again. no life man, haha. Told you I would be stressed out after my march holidays as I gotta teach them eng, maths, sci, ss and health ed. the whole of the teacher's timetable. There's SO MUCH things to do and plan. But that's for 2 weeks only. They're getting a new relief teacher as my school's starting. I'm starting to worry because I have not receive any news from np yet :(

I'm so starting to appreciate my weekends. Sat is friends' day and sun's family day! This is how precious my weekends are now. Going to meet the usuals tomorrow!

Sarah's 20th birthday!

F.U gang celebrated quack's birthday on saturday! nice surprise organized by ferli and maine. I know I did nothing but drawing and cutting of speech bubbles only. But they were doing all the work on the train to nus or in school, very difficult for me to help also :( And FELICIA TAN keep whining that I didn't help anything! That's so mean. rawrrr.

I like this picture actually, after looking at it a few times. hahaha.

We had dinner at bedok point, kung fu paradise. The food there seems okay only, nothing special, don't think I'll go there again anytime. Bedok point is a new mall at Bedok for those who live far away from the east, especially gof. haha. I would say there's nothing much there to shop, but there's many new dining places and kbox fullstop. haha.
Accompanied quack and maine for shopping today as sarah says she don't wanna be left alone at home on her birthday. We are forever going to the same cheap shopping places: bugis and far east plaza. I can even recognize the sales persons already, I think they can too.

I bought new shoes! Like finally after looking for so long. My everlast shoes are getting more and more cui each day. They are not lasting at all as the brand says. I wore for like only a year? And it's tearing apart already. Sarah wore hers for 3 years! It's so not fair when mine's only 10 bucks cheaper than hers. haha. But I'm still gonna con't wearing it to make my money WORTH.

New kappa shoes :D

CZ's sports day!

Friday's was CZ's sports day! Unfortunately, it rained the whole night on thurs and the field was too wet. So we had class activities instead followed by some events in the hall. But I get to take photos of them in the classroom because of wet weather :)

My class has many handsome boys and pretty girls right. But don't be deceived by their faces, they can be really noisy and chaotic in class. This was told by their co-form teacher. haha. We talked about different athletic heroes like Mohammad Ali the wrestler and many others. The guys in class actually do know them and can name me many more. Impressive. If they have the same amount of interest in their studies as well that'll be good. haha. We were supposed to build structures using straws only. There's a competition between the classes to see which class can build the tallest structure using straws only. My class did a very good job, thanks to their co-form teacher and ME. Hope the class will win a prize!

4Diligence, Ms Diana, me and their tall structure made of straws :)
After the class activities, they proceed to the hall for the sports events. My students can really run, play hockey and rugby. They won quite a few medals!

Following Saturday was parents' meeting. I'm glad that I attended the parents' meeting NOT because I'm being paid that day, but also that I get to know my students' background more. It's good that teachers know their students well so that they know how to help them, especially that I'm going to teach them EMS after the march holidays. I'm quite scared and stressed out actually. haha. My class is a low ability class, many of them are weak in their studies and has learning disabilities. Some are hyperactive, some diagnosed with dyslexic where they cannot differentiate between certain words and letters like 'b' and 'd' and they write sentences without spacing, some has adhd where they cannot understand simple questions and are very slow in understanding. There seemed to be many problems in my class. haha. I actually came across to know that many of my students come from single-parent family. And it's because of the family problems at home that caused some of their behaviors in school. From this, I guess that family definitely has a great impact on children life. Children are greatly affected by family matters and it leaves a scar psychologically in them. Some became very quiet, some rebellious and some start to score badly for exams. I come across real-life incidents in my class.

But I know that the world is fair. Although my pupils are slower in their studies and has learning disabilities, they are very nice, caring, helpful, handsome and pretty children. Some of them are also willing to learn and try their best in doing their homework and exams. As for some, I think they need more motivation and encouragement in their studies. I believe they can :)

Life's unpredictable at times.
Do treasure.

cycling and sunburnt! but slow and steady :)

Went cycling with sushan and jiayen on saturday morning. GOF was supposed to go botanic gardens, but many could not make it. There goes my 5 dollars tree, haha. It's okay, we have decided to postpone it to next next sat! The sun was scorching hot and I only realised I got sunburnt when I got home. But I like to be tanned :) We were supposed to meet 9am at parkway parade. But you know us, I reached at 9.30 and sushan 9.45 gotten lost. haha. Poor jiayen gotta wait for us. But we waited for her for like an hour plus before!? This is why we are always even with one another for being late. Luckily, we knew the way to east coast park from PP even without the guys to lead the way. We walked damn slowly to the bicycle rental shop, cycled real slowly for 2 hours around the park, stopping at the bedok jetty which we always do,camwhoring, stopping at the sand castle area, and then back to the shop. We were being LOSERS that day. hahaha. Didn't feel that we've exercised. But at least we sweat alot due to the sun. I got tanned, uneven tan. Thanks to my watch, my skin's 2 colour tone at the wrist.

I guess I've been under the sun for too long, and also not enough sleep, have been feeling giddy and nauseous this weekend. Feeling better now, hope to survive next week of teaching, and then...m
arch holidays! Which means I also get my holidays=no pay for a week :( $65x5, that's 325 bucks! I don't want holidays. I'm that money face. haha.

CZ's having sports day this coming friday, which means I don't have lessons for a day but 65 bucks still goes into my pocket if I help out. Haven't attended a sports day for so long since I graduated. JC's sports day also don't feel like one to me as I was not very involved. haha. I'm gonna cheer for my class! Following sat will be parents' meeting. Guess gotta be quite busy next week. I think I'm very young to attend parents' meeting at this age. All the talking and explaining and description about each and every child in my class. I'm gonna talk crap and smoke my way through. haha. Luckily I only have 28 pupils and not like 38 or 40.

A levels results are out! And my juniors did really well :) Judo has about 8-9 who went up stage to get their results as they have 3 distinctions and above. My OG has about 8 who went up s
tage too. Proud of them :D Which means I can start applying also already. Good luck to my application!

I think realising one's dreams is a beautiful thing.
Be it small dreams or big ones :)))
